Founding Designer

As the founding designer at a venture-backed startup, I was responsible for establishing the design foundation from the ground up. I built a scalable and accessible component library, defining design systems and frameworks that supported a team of engineers and allowed us to rapidly scale. I also played a key role in shaping the product’s user experience, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that every feature was user-centered and aligned with the company's goals. My work spanned product design, branding, and prototyping, enabling the startup to deliver consistent, high-quality user experiences.

Product Design

I contributed to defining the product's vision and roadmap, ensuring that design was integral to strategic decisions. My focus was on building visually appealing, consistent interfaces that enhanced usability and aligned with the brand's aesthetics. Additionally, I developed scalable design systems and component libraries that accommodated growth, responsiveness, and accessibility.

Brand Identity and Marketing Collateral

I establish the startup's visual identity, including logos, colour schemes, typography, and other brand assets. I was also responsible for building, testing, and maintaining our website which included the design of marketing materials, website assets, and promotional content that created a cohesive brand presence. I also managed our email communications for marketing updates and account interactions.

Prototyping

I created interactive prototypes to demonstrate functionality and gather early feedback while the engineering team setup the backend. I was able to quickly iterate on these designs in response to changing requirements and user insights, to continuously improve and adapt the product as we explored market fit. Additionally, I accelerated our engineering processes by incorporating essential technical parameters and implementation details, ensuring a smoother transition from concept to execution.
