Management

At Rivian, I played a pivotal role in improving cross-departmental communication and collaboration, partnering with the VP of Vehicle Experience Design to implement organizational and managerial best practices. Beyond the design department, I led the company-wide adoption of Slack, working with Ops to establish usage guidelines and serving as the primary point of contact for Slack-related support. Amongst the design directors, I conducted management training on effective employee check-ins and developed comprehensive hiring guidelines to ensure consistent, inclusive, and diverse interview panels. These efforts enhanced the design culture, promoted alignment across teams, and supported the growth of high-performing, diverse talent throughout the organization.

Design

Beyond management, I was also the design lead for Rivian’s native mobile apps, working closely with the engineering teams to define key features to ensure a cohesive, user-centred experience. Mobile capabilities are dependant on the vehicle hardware and software features, so I served as a liaison between the infotainment and vehicle teams in order to design and document the logic and behaviour for remote functionality and Bluetooth capabilities. I also organized and led cross-departmental design critiques, improving visibility and collaboration across the broader design organization.
